Welcome to my blog about my recent adventure abroad. I traveled through Amsterdam and got to experience the amazing Amadeus Imperial. My first stop in my vacation was to Amsterdam. Read below to follow along on my journey. 1 October Flights in Premium Economy on Delta worked like clockwork. I flew from Ontario, CA, to Seattle, where I met up with my friend Elizabeth and flew from Seattle to Amsterdam. No masks were required, and few folks were wearing them. Both flights were packed with no extra seats so they had offers of mileage credits and money to change your flights. 2 October We arrived in Amsterdam to find very upbeat and energetic people. We took a cab to the W Hotel. The hotel has an excellent location and is split across the street into two components. On the exterior, it is a lovely traditional building. It has been updated inside; they painted every hallway wall grey. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, and the vibe is ultra-modern with electrically controlled shades and very stark contemporary artwork. Little phrases are on walls, shower doors, windows, etc., throughout. Check-in is on the 6th Floor, along with the bar and their rooftop pool called Wet. The W has a Michelin Star restaurant called the Dutchess which we had secured a reservation through OpenTable before departing the States for the evening. The staff is great, and the food is offered in a “share with your table guests” style. The wine list is very inclusive. The presentation of the food was exquisite, and the dessert was a tabletop show. Homemade Lemon Ice-cream hand churned right at your table with liquid nitrogen to freeze it. I would highly recommend it.
