Brandy's Mammoth Adventure

Brandy here! This holiday break I decided to take a trip into some nature and enjoy the outdoors. I stayed in Bishop, CA and explored the area. Some of the magical places I travelled to were Convict Lake, June Lake, the Mammoth Hot Springs and Mammoth Mountain. If you were not up for essential work or were an essential worker getting a hotel room was near impossible.

First up, Convict Lake. The water was icy and snow surrounded the banks. The mountain line was beautiful and breathing in the fresh air was needed. Next up was June Lake. A quaint little town nestled up a mountain road was the epitome of a small town Christmas experience. The lake was frozen over which left room for me to explore the show and marsh area with nobody else around.
Next were the Hot Springs. I went twice and got to sit in the baths in peace and enjoy nature and the snow melting from the rocks into the pools. The second night I was lucky enough to experience the "Christmas Star" through the hot spring tubs over the mountain range, along with some comets shooting through the skies. It was a memorable experience that was needed after these long months of being at home. Tip for anyone going - don't forget your water!

Finally, I explored the snowboard and ski resort on the mountain which was bustling with people. Mammoth did a great job requiring masks at all times, and would even revoke mountain passes for anyone seen without their mask on when not directly eating or drinking something. I got to enjoy some crisp apple cider in the snow and had the time to explore Mammoth Village and shop small to support the area. All in all, this trip was something very special and much needed.
